The secret to making great art? 🎨

Accept that most of what you make will not be GREAT—it’ll just be okay.

☝🏼 And that’s exactly how it should be.

Mastery comes from showing up, making, experimenting, and pushing through the "just okay" work. Every piece teaches you something, builds your skills, and sharpens your vision. The pressure to create a masterpiece every time will only hold you back.

This is a ✂️ collage I did last week. I haven't done collage work in about 2 months and decided to start small, both to warm up and to start a series of 8-10 small pieces for the Santa Fe Open Studio Tour in which I will be participating the last two weekends of June. I find that the more collage work I do the more minimalist I get both as to palette and form. I'm not sure what that's about! 🤪

Let go of perfection, embrace the process, and trust that the truly great work will emerge when you least expect it.

Keep making.

Keep growing.
